who introduced you to the pomegranate

Okay, kids. It's time for some comments. I don't care if you email me or leave the notes on the blog, but I'm ready to hear from you.

So here's a question that I love because it occured to me many years ago and I have yet to find someone who doesn't remember or to hear an uninteresting story!

Oh, dear. I might be the exception to your rule. I just knew the pomegranate from Greek mythology and finally when I saw it in a grocery store, it was terribly anti-climactic.

I decided to get one for my 4th grade Sunday School class, so we could see and taste the fruit mentioned in their Bible story.

My mom introduced me way back when I was a wee one. I loved picking them apart like a little brain and having red stained fingers like a surgeon. She also introduced me to rhubarb too. Both seemed so alien to me as a lil' vanilla palletted New Englander.

Last year, I tried that drink "POM" made of just the juice and it was SO bitter and SO nasty. Just a bad marketing idea all around. Now, grenadine, on the other hand, is quite a nice lil' syrupy version of it. Cheers!
